Get Off My Bacne!

BACNE. I’ve been struggling with bouts of acne on my back and chest since I was a teen.  For so long I've been under the impression that like facial acne, it is hormonal and cyclical. But after doing some research I discovered that breakouts on your chest and back tend to be a little different than the acne on your face. They're technically called ‘folliculitis’, which is when the hair follicle becomes infected, however, it looks the same as facial acne. I recently tried this three step process that worked miracles on my latest bacne stint!

First step-  you want to shower as quickly as possible when you get back from exercising, the beach, etc. You're rinsing off all the oil, sweat, and sunscreen that can build up around the hair follicles.

Second step- cleanse the broken out area with Medicine Mama’s Zinc Facial Soap.  Zinc is a known enemy of acne and infected follicles. Zinc is also a metal that humans need in small doses to perform essential functions. In addition to treating acne, it is used to boost the human immune system. Do note that Zinc might be a little drying on the skin, so be sure to moisturize with a light application of Medicine Mama’s Sweet Bee Magic after you cleanse.

Third step-  for deep exfoliation, also utilizing the anti-bacterial properties of honey, use Medicine Mama’s Honey Facial Scrub once/twice per week. Honey scrub clears away dead skin, it also stimulates circulation and blood flow, helping clear away and reduce inflammation. Also, I found that as my skin was clearing from the zinc soap the folliculitis were drying up and the honey scrub smoothed my skin out by getting rid of the dried skin buildup.
