It’s Winter. Get Outside!
Winter may not be officially here, according to the calendar, but all over the country cold temperatures, brisk wind, freezing rain, and yes, SNOW! are already part of daily life.
It’s easy to find ourselves spending more time indoors, but winter can be a beautiful time to be outside. Sports like skiing, skating, and snowshoeing are a great way to get outdoors. Instead of eating lunch at your desk, why not bundle up and take a short walk in a park? When’s the last time you made a snowman or had a snowball fight? Getting outside in the fresh air and enjoying what daylight there is can clear your head, improve your mood and increase your energy level.
And speaking of getting outside, did you know?...
Medicine Mama Apothecary’s products are amazing for athletes. And animals. And animals that are athletes!
Whether you are a hard-core winter warrior who loves to play and compete outdoors or you just spend winter going about your normal routine, dry, chapped skin is a fact of life when the cold weather hits. The cold and snow are hard on paws too. That’s why we offer Pet First – the same soothing, healing, organic, so-safe-and-natural-you-can-eat-it ingredients as Sweet Bee Magic – for pets.
And for pets that are athletes. Once again, we are proud to sponsor Five Degrees Sled Dog Kennel, by providing owners Troy and Julia with a supply of Pet First. Here’s what they have to say about it:
“We are in full swing training for this year’s race season. Fall training is particularly hard on dogs’ feet and we have been going though the Bee Magic like crazy as it heals and protects. We have learned that if we apply [it] pre-running the dogs come in with much less damage and many times if it is a question of [putting] on booties or not, if we just use Bee Magic we usually can skip the booties which increases speed and traction. This is especially important when racing… Moose loves having his feet treated and getting to lick the extra off. [The fact that it is] safe for dogs to lick is an extra plus. I have enclosed some pictures that I hope show our support and use of your great product. Many thanks.”
Even if your dog isn’t running the Iditarod, just walking on cold pavement, snow and ice, or chemically treated roads, can be tough on bare feet. Our products are gentle and effective.
How do you (and your pets) get through the cold, dark days of winter? Tell us! We’d love to hear.
